“Fly Your Ride” Contest at the San Diego Air & Space Museum
The idea is simple: build a vehicle, release it down a ramp, and see if it can land safely on the other side of the gap. It can’t be too big, it can’t be too expensive, and it can’t be too dangerous, but the rest is up to you and your imagination.
The San Diego Air & Space Museum has launched its 2018 “Fly Your Ride” competition, which awards cash prizes to the student teams who design and build vehicle that can roll down a ramp, launch into the air, and land safely on the other side. Preliminary designs are due Tuesday, January 30, and the competitions are on April 28 (middle school competitors) and May 5 (high school competitors).
